How To Sell Products Through Social Networks
With the constant evolution of technology, social networks have become an integral part of today’s modern society, and, understanding how to properly utilize them is now an essential skill for businesses that want to succeed.
The internet has given users easy access to something that they all desire: convenience. Nowadays, people aren’t interested in getting out of their homes, driving to the store, and spending valuable time to buy things. All they have to do is go online, click a button, and the same goods are shipped right to their door within a couple of days.
Businesses who aren’t able to adapt to this change will be one step behind the line. However, those who see an opportunity and learn to use these platforms to their full potential, will be one step ahead. So, let’s start with a couple of ways to help you increase your sales using social media.
Create authentic content
First and foremost, people want to see content that they haven’t seen before. Aim to create original and authentic content that your audience will remember. Use your imagination and stray away from the norm.
This will allow your audience to connect with your brand on a personal level and give them a reason to revisit your page. Contrarily, pages that repost content are at a disadvantage as the content can often be found on numerous other pages.
Choose your platform wisely
Different platforms can be used to target different audiences. Instagram for instance typically hosts a younger audience, whereas Facebook users tend to be slightly older. If you’re seeking to hire educated professionals, LinkedIn would be a good fit, and so on.
Each platform has its own characteristics that make it more appealing to a certain audience, be sure to do your research on which demographic you are trying to reach first, then pick the social network of choice second.
Some products may also perform better on certain networks. For example, as Instagram focuses more on a visual aspect such as picture and video content, physical products will be easier to advertise.
With this being said, you’re not limited to branding on one platform only. However, running multiple accounts on different networks at once can be time-consuming. Be sure to be efficient and pick the platforms that are most suitable for you!
Earn your audience’s trust
On social media, relationships are more important than leads. Get people interested in what you do, make them trust you and they will be more inclined to buy your products.
Don’t always have the “SELL, SELL, SELL” mindset, be passive. Reply to comments, provide free advice to your customers, make them genuinely interested in your products and they will be more inclined to purchase them.
“Givers Gain”, if you can provide good advice or be resourceful to your audience in any way, in the long-run, you will be compensated.
If necessary, take it offline
If someone has a lot of questions and you can tell that they are interested in your product, rather than spending hours messaging back and forth, offer to arrange a call or even meet up in person if you’re in the same area. This will give your customer a sense of importance, personalization, and entice them into wanting to buy.
Always go the extra mile and you will be steps ahead of your competition.
